Women Mean Business

 

The Women Mean Business Project aims to shape a better offer for women in business and workplaces in Sutton, by celebrating the success and diversity of women in a range of roles which will inspire other women across the borough.

 

Opportunity Sutton proposes to coordinate a number of events in the lead up to International Women’s Day in March 2019, which will include seminars, workshops, presentations, roundtable discussions, breakfast meetings, and an inaugural women in business awards ceremony.

Supported Internships

 

Carshalton College run a Supported Internship Programme and are looking for both young adults and employers to support the programme and enjoy the benefits.

 

The programme is a year long study programme which helps young adults get back in to work. The young adult will attend College to gain the necessary skills and qualifications to meet the job specification.

 

Employers benefit from an enthusiastic and reliable staff member up to 1 year. The college acts as an independent recruitment company and will give support to both the young adult and the employer at no cost.

 

The main commitment is that the employer can support the young adult to secure paid employment.

Sutton and District Training

 

Sutton and District Training are offering a new Future Media Esports and Game Design Level 1 and 2 Certificate and Diploma.

 

Young people 16-18 Years (or 19-24 with EHCP) will work with experts from the Esports industry, enabling them to develop skills in Games Design, Team Gaming, Article Writing & Social Media.

 

The project is being run in Carshalton.

Spacehive – Save our Stables – Grove Park

 

Sutton and District are fundraising to restore a building in Grove Park which will be managed jointly by Sutton and District Training in partnership with the local community.
