The aim of Our Place! – Embracing Mental Health is to help unemployed people with mental health conditions into sustained employment as well as supporting more workplaces to become ‘healthy workplaces’ in which employee wellbeing is taken seriously. The Employer Engagement Officer is the single point of contact for residents and employers to explore ways they can support people with mental health conditions into employment. A range of services are on offer including:

  • work experience
  • work trials (try-before-you-buy)
  • mentoring (coaching people to improve their confidence)
  • mock interviews
  • learning from best practice to promote a ‘healthier’ workplace for all employees
